Invite Lori to your next event

When speaking I tend to emphasize transferability and personal life application. I desire for people to remember the key points and scriptures of a talk so that they can discuss them with others, pass them on to people they are discipling and share them with their children. I enjoy speaking directly from scripture letting God be the teacher and His words lead the way, me a mere communication tool in His hand.

Diving into scripture and writing new talks for a specific theme of an event or retreat is a common practice. I also have several topics I enjoy sharing as they are life messages of mine. Listed below are a small sample of those topics.

From large group gatherings, women’s retreats, conferences and events-I would love to talk more about how I might serve your group. Below is a sampling of just some of the topics I love to speak on!

Discipleship Toolbox Part I, II & III

Discipling women is a joy, a privilege, and a thrill. During this three part series I share stories from my own discipleship journey with countless women for over 20 years. Part I explores compelling reasons to disciple, a biblical perspective, and where to look for disciples. Part II explores attributes of a key disciple, elements of a discipleship appointment, and how to get started. Part III explores how we grow and mature as followers of Christ, how to speak the truth in love, and what material to use with your disciple.

Leaving a Legacy

Everyone passes through life leaving something behind. Our legacy is crafted moment by moment, day-by-day, as the sum of our life story weaves a biography. So the question becomes not if you will leave a legacy, but what kind of legacy will you leave? What is your life telling those around you today? Using Deuteronomy 6 as the key passage we look at how to pass on positive, spiritual legacies and how not to pass down negative legacies. Filled with stories and examples of ordinary people passing their faith up, down and sideways women are encouraged to leave a legacy worth passing on!

Spiritual Warfare

A Bible scholar once said, “Sooner or later every believer discovers that the Christian life is a battleground, not a playground, and that he faces an enemy who is much stronger than he is-apart from the Lord. This powerful talk explores the depth of the spiritual battle we are in, looks carefully at the tactics of the enemy (he is patient, he speaks in first person, he attacks your weaknesses, etc.), and how to put on the armor of God. Ephesians 6:10-12 is the central passage of this talk.

The Power of Prayer

Originally written as a follow up talk to Spiritual Warfare. In Ephesians 6:18, Paul lists another one of our resources in battle-prayer. This talk examines the very real power of our prayers to change things in our lives. Daniel 10:12-13 helps us understand what is going on behind the scenes in the spiritual realm when we pray. Also discussed are helpful hints to put prayer into practice in our everyday lives.

The Ultimate Examination

Martin Luther said that on his calendar there were but two days: “Today and That Day.” He recognized that all the days of his earthly existence were preparation for that momentous day when he would stand before God in eternity and give account for his life. This intense message unpacks a central passage about the judgment seat of Christ, 1 Corinthians 3:10-15. We learn in-depth about the judgment seat and how to live each day in preparation for that day.

Laying up Treasures

Originally written as a follow-up to the Ultimate Examination. If you are going to have treasures, make sure you store them somewhere safe. The central passage, Matthew 6:19-21, teaches us what kind of treasures to invest in and what kind of treasures won’t stand the test of time, and where to store them for safe keeping.

God’s Relentless Love

Using Luke 15 as the text we will learn clearly that God is a God who is immensely concerned with saving those who are lost, those who have not put their faith in Christ yet. We uncover some hidden gems in this passage that will forever change how we read and study this passage. As a result women will be able to make several very personal applications to their lives and be able to identify with the cast of characters in this most famous parable/chapter.

Embracing Your Destiny

God has a special destiny for each of us. A unique life of purpose to live in his kingdom. A life where we fall deeper in love with Jesus and are used by God for kingdom purposes. Everything about you, your personality, your laugh, your hair and yes, even your bra size are put together perfectly to fulfill the unique destiny He has for you. Jeremiah 29:11-13, Psalm 32:8-10, 139:16.

Living with Something to Share

Sharing Christ and the good news of the gospel needs to go from something we go do (like on a mission trip) to something we are. We need to become evangelistic about Jesus as a way of life. Acts 17:26-27 is a power passage confirming that God has already set in motion people’s salvation and we get to be a part of the process if we will keep our eyes open for opportunities to share the hope we have in Christ.
